Veraison is Happening at Clover Hill Winery!

It is almost like 'taste the rainbow' in the vineyard. Our vineyards are transforming into beautiful clusters of skittles during this growing phase called veraison.

Veraison is the final phase of the growing season, just before harvest. A number of changes occur in the fruit; most notably the berries begin to soften and change color. However, inside the berries the sugars intensify, the acidity decreases and flavors develop. The birds will also notice the change in the grapes and soon you will see the netting covering our precious grapes. There is about 30-70 days from veraison to harvest depending on the grape variety.

Post veraison, we hope to see less rain and sunny, warm days straight through to the end of harvest. Keep in touch with Clover Hill's 2017 vintage via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Cheers to bringing you our best for the 2017 Vintage!

We have a number of new vintage releases. Be sure to sample the following wines on your next Clover Hill visit!

New Release Updates:

2016 Chardonnay

2016 Sangiovese

2014 Merlot

Grown at Sunset Vineyard (John III's house). Crisp green apple flavors balanced by a warm, toasty oak. Grown at Sunrise Vineyard (1/2 mile from the Winery on Newtown & Haas Hill Roads). Classic cherry and plum aromas and flavors with medium tannins. Pairs very well with anything tomato based - pasta, pizza, etc. Grown in Breinigsville at the top of the hill. A fuller bodied red wine that has gripping tannins. Drink now or age for 5-8 years to soften the tannins.

Yoga in the Vineyard
The Winery in Breinigsville
September 7, 2017; 6-8pm
Join Kari Skrip, co-owner, of Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery and Jacque Porterfield, from Lehigh Valley Yoga Studio, for a special evening at the Winery in Breinigsville, to benefit the 100 mile Bike MS City to Shore.

This event is an all level, gentle flow class - no yoga experience necessary. We will flow through a sequence of poses aimed at increasing your flexibility and core strength, helping to reduce stress and alleviate lower back pain. Jacque will keep things lighthearted and fun, while occasionally offering more challenges for those looking for more advanced poses. You'll feel comfortable whatever your experience level. We'll end the practice with a complimentary glass of wine and hors d'oeuvres. This September 23rd, Terry Gregory (Jacque's boyfriend) will be doing the 100 mile Bike MS City to Shore. Terry is looking for support to help raise donations for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He’ll be riding again this year for Team Teva Pharmaceuticals. Last year this team raised $100,000.

If it’s in your ability to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Your donation of $12 per class will be donated directly into the fund for this bike ride.
