Clover Hill Vineyards and Winery started as a dream and became a family tradition. Located in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, we are a small, family-owned business. John and Pat Skrip, founders of Clover Hill, began it all in the 1970’s when they planted grapes as a hobby at their home in Breinigsville, PA. Their hobby developed into a passion as they began producing wines that they loved & wanted to share with others. In September of 1985 they proudly opened the doors of Clover Hill Vineyards and Winery.
From its inception, Clover Hill has been all about family. John and Pat instilled in their children a love for the land that they tended, and over the years the vineyards and winery have grown with the Skrip Family. After literally growing up in the vines, two of the Skrip children have become an integral part of the family business.
In the early 1990’s, after studying enology at Fresno State University, California, John Skrip III joined Clover Hill as Winemaker. Under his care, the wine list has continued to expand, offering many new wines, and maintaining a standard of excellence that has come to be a Clover Hill hallmark.
Daughter, Kari Skrip, has followed the family tradition, joining Clover Hill after studying wine marketing at the University of Adelaide, Australia. Kari’s expertise in marketing, promotion, and distribution continue to introduce new customers to the fine wines of Clover Hill while protecting the integrity of her family’s passion and mission - providing premium wines in a relaxed, inviting winery atmosphere.
Both John III and Kari have a deep love for Clover Hill and the land of southeastern Pennsylvania. Over the years, they have seen their parents’ dream grow to include six vineyards of 80 acres that produce 80,000 gallons of wine a year. Together, John & Pat, John III and Kari remain committed to the dream that became a tradition. It is their ambition that the wine, customer service, and atmosphere of Clover Hill reflect the dedication and care that goes into every bottle of Clover Hill wine.
